My 31st Christmas

Oh, there is just so much to be thankful for this Christmas and if I were to list it all down, it would take me hours.

Christmas 2013 has come and gone in a blink of an eye and although I am super tired, I just wanted to write a few thoughts down just like I try to do every year, and since I hardly blog these days anyway, I thought it would be good to share about my 31st Christmas
*smiles smiles*

This Christmas was slightly different from the past Christmases... the main differences would be that my brother and his family are in the Philippines celebrating with my sister-in-laws family, instead of work slowing down, I was working too much in December {new clients and a shortage of manpower in the office} which made me grumpy and stressed, I didn't my Christmas shopping done in time and most importantly I did not find my Christmas spirit till heaps and heaps later *sniff*... ok nothing really new here to be honest - LOLs!

Very much like last year, I found my Christmas spirit during Christmas eve mass. Unlike the Christmas spirits of old, this year's Christmas spirit did not really appear when I saw the beautifully decorated church nor did it appear when I heard the angelic voice of the choir singing Christmas carols... sure there were stirrings in my heart {I am after all a super sap!}, but it was not the same.

There was also no BIG bang to announce the arrival of my Christmas spirit. There was also no "ah hah!" moment... rather it was more of a swelling in my heart when the priests {there were four at the mass} talked about how blessed we were to be able to gather together to celebrate Midnight Mass in peace...
how there were so many people out there suffering; people who lost their homes due to floods or war, people who were starving or who were sick or who were just lonely.

The swelling in my heart was one of thankfulness, joy and shame. Shame because in the hustle and bustle of "my life", I had forgotten the very fundamentals of Christmas. I had forgotten to prepare myself for the birth of Jesus. I had forgotten to pray for those who were forgotten, lost, in pain or suffering. Instead, I went on and on about how much work I had, how stressed I was, how I did not have anytime to buy presents and yadayadayada. Reading all this now, I feel ashamed at myself to have allowed these pressures to cloud the joy and peace of the season.

But all is not lost. Thank God!

The Christmas spirit swelled in my heart and grew and brought tears in my eyes for indeed unto this day, the Christ child is born and he is called Immanuel which means "God with us". It was a gentle reminder that no matter what I did, where I went or which nasty client I had to tackle, I was never alone. God was and will always be with me. That simple reminder was when I felt the Christmas spirit flow and course through me.
And joy, the kind you can't buy, filled my heart.

Thank you God for allowing me that special moment, thank you for the gift of Your Son. Thank you that I am called to be in your fold. Thank you God for all the blessings you have showered upon me and continue to shower upon me. Alleluia! Amen.

The rest of Christmas passed by in a quiet blur. I spent a lot of time with my parents which was lovely. I hardly give them quality time, so spending time with them during Christmas Eve dinner at our very memorable Tram Car restaurant, Christmas lunch at a local coffee shop today, hanging out with them at home, furniture window shopping and then a simple bak kut teh dinner today in Kepong was wonderful indeed and I my mum thanked B and I for spending Christmas with them.

Belle the beagle was uber cute today too ~ I hope she gets better soon. I also spent time with my bestie Meows and several other friends. We also managed to sell the condo {I also pray that the sale of the house goes smoothly}. Didn't get to spend much time talking to B one on one but he was always beside me or somewhere close by *smiles* There was also some frantic present wrapping and packing.... and now...

...now finally there is peace and quiet in the house.
I am listening to Mozart Christmas Carols and marveling at how fast time passes and another Christmas has come and gone and how I have to wait another 364 days for it again.

This year, there is still no Christmas tree in the foreground, no BEC Christmas party, no Christmas carolling.... but there are a pile of surprise Christmas presents, a  few packed bags for tomorrow and most importantly, there is Christmas, joy and peace in my heart and a God who is always with me.

Once again, Happy Blessed Christmas everyone!

*God bless*

Thank you for reading this dear blog friends and to Jennifer Robinson, thanks for leaving me a comment, I really appreciate it.

Read more about my other Christmases hereherehere and here.

And just like last year, I am still hooked onto Avicci {gosh he is a cutie} and kinda regret not dragging myself to the rave - LOLs. So here is some music from him ~ enjoy *smiles*

Christmas just ended but I am already looking forward to the new year 2014, bought my diaries, won myself a calendar and will create a new desktop calendar soon. But first, a short trip away with B and my in-laws, a little bit more of work and its hello 2014!

And finally, to end this post, here is a photo of my darling beagle Belle, asleep. I pray she gets better soon the little dear.

Oh, so much to look forward to everyday... and really I wonder what next year's Christmas will bring, I pray that they are only blessed, good and happy moments. Amen.

I am grateful

Seen on Pinterest

Today's an awesome day.
It's been a simple day filled with so
many things to be grateful for.

I had an easy day at work today with no moaning
clients or bosses but instead had good and fun chats with
several of my colleagues. The food today was also delicious
especially the lovely dark chocolate covered biscuits and
lemon almond biscuits that I bought from Ben's Independent
Grocer. Then there was the decent-ish traffic on the way home,
a free ride from my dad, a photobook I compiled arrived in the
mail, the chance for me to see my brother before he
leaves for his trip overseas, a glimpse and a little pet for a cute
hamster, time spent playing with my doggy Belle, a lovely dinner
with my parents and B and then coming home to my lovely
small, cluttered house that smells so lovely and finding out that
the books I have been waiting for {and wanting} have arrived.
Oh the sweet joy of having a simple awesome day.

Thank you God for so many blessings.

P.S: Sorry for the lack of posts and the cobwebs that
have gathered in this Little Piece of Heaven.
More updates soon, I promise *smiles*

And we have begun folks!

I have been sleeping super late {and hence waking up super late as well} these past two weeks and I know I should quite this horrid habit and I will... soon... but tonight, I just wanted to write {it's been awhile}. It's not something super that has happened but it has been a packed day!
  • It's my nephew Ethan's full moon today {he is one month old!} so I got a whole chicken and red eggs and the like. I wanted to eat the chicken but was too lazy to chop it up and had char kuey teow instead {I waited for more than an hour but it was worth it!}.
  • I may have chosen the hotel for our stay in London. It looks super promising *smiles*
  • I met with a head hunter person who gave me pretty good tips for future interviews.
  • An old friend, P, came over to the Love Nest and got me my Biotherm facial cleanser {for a steal!} and some other skin care goodies {I think there were about 7 tubes and tubs of facial and body goodness} ~ and it's not even my birthday *woot woot* ~ thanks P!
  • Visited my in-laws and my family.
  • I saw Belle the beagle today after missing her for a week. She refused to even look at me and gave me a sulky face when she eventually did. What a dog I tell you! But I love her all the same 'cos she is just awesome possum. {Belle's sulky face below and me trying my darnest to coax her into being the lovable, adorable, slobbery beagle that she is}.

  • My Simon Says Stamp {they have awesome craft stuff and duh! stamps!!} stuff arrived in the mail and I finally got them in my hands ~ oh joy!!! {I will write more about the awesome stuff I got in another post {if I remember!}. Btw, I just love receiving things in the mail ~ happy things and not things like bills and boring crappy stuff.
  • I had ChaTime bubble tea and put in the drinks holder in the loaned Perodua Kenari car {our car's being sprayed and what not!} ~ super awesome! Drinks holders in cars are just one of the greatest inventions ever in my book.
  • I came home and decided to make a Mother's Day card and a card for my niece's 30th birthday tomorrow. So I took out the supplies and tried and tried again and finally I got it made. Two "creative" things. I don't have photos of them but they look pretty decent and I kind of liked the outcome of it. I used mostly rubber stamps, washi tape and patterned paper {all my favs}.
  • Then I realised {and shared with B} that the craft projects that I did or will do doesn't quite need to be perfect. Perfection, or more likely the idea of me needing to make things perfect, hinders me for actually starting to craft which is just horrible as I have amassed ALOT of supplies so much so that the arts and crafts police would definitely fine me or throw me into crafty prison for not using all the goodies I have collect since forever! But it's honestly a big thing for me to have made two creative things. I know, I know... it's just two things but really, to me, it's a BIG thing. Baby steps! Baby steps! Btw, my back is killing me as I was crafting on the floor. My table was filled with a whole lot of other stuff ~ ouchness! {Note to self: Clean table for craft purposes and putting food but of course!}
  • *On a side note, I have been doing a little bit of crafting for Project Let's Create, but that's a whole different type of crafting ~ updates when I get things done. The printer has gone wonky just as I needed it to work *tsk tsk*
So yes. A very long day it was today but it sure was fulfilling. I even watched "MoneyBall" {with Brad Pitt} but I was crafting mid-way so I don't know if that counts *snickers* Well, tomorrow is Mother's Day {HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all your readers who are mums or mums-to-be ~ you guys are awesome!} and my niece's 30th party which is a karaoke do. I can't wait for lunch with my family and then singing later with my extended family. It will be our first family karaoke party! *woot woot*

Good night folks! It's been lovely typing all this down {like typing diarrhea} and thanks for visiting this Little Piece of Heaven! I feel so happy when I see that people are actually visiting my blog *smiles* Thanks again. Happy Sunday all.

She's turned 2!

I can’t believe how fast time flies.
I remember the day that I bought her.
Just seems like yesterday that B and
I begged dad to let me buy her.
And how I refused to put her down in the pet store
and how when we brought her home and put her on the floor,
she hopped like a bunny ~ how we laughed at that sight!
I remember too when she snuggled on my lap
and promptly fell asleep one night.
The small warm body in my arms,
head tilted just so, smiling a sulky smile at me.
How I love you Belly.
How we all love you!
You are so very much a part of our family.
*You are loved Belle Belle*
I hope you had a happy 2nd birthday!

A full Saturday

It's been a busy Saturday. Very family and Belle filled. B is at an event today so I have been doing my own thing today. When he isn't around, I miss him *smiles*

I woke up at 7:30am today and spent quite a bit of time today to go through some Project Happily Ever After stuff, watched 2010 Poker World Championship Tournament, surfed the interweb, played Zuma, bought heaps of pretty ribbons, played with Belle and went for a walk with her and my mum, chatted with my family and went to my aunties house. I did a bit of daydreaming as well and pinning @ Pinterest.

Just wanted to say that Project Happily Ever After is moving along, slowly but surely. Today really has been a  full day ~ hadn't had one of these in awhile. Hope all of you guys are having an awesome Saturday.

P.S: I super love this quote about Happiness. It makes me smile.

truly eventful day

Today is Malaysia Day ~ A celebration held on the September 16 every year to commemorate the establishment of the Malaysian federation on the same date in 1963.

So instead of going to work today, I woke up at a leisurely 10am and brought Belle to the doggy sitters for a stay over the weekend. It helps her heaps as her interaction with other dogs remain limited and she is relatively shy/afraid of them. I believe in her mind she is a human and not a dog! *snickers* Anyways, am happy to hear from the doggy sitter that Belle has settled in and warmed up and is now friends with another beagle {who is incidentally underweight and of a very pale colour, unlike our dear Belle who is overweight - thanks to steroids that she had to take when she was ill - and tricoloured}. I worry less knowing that she is happy and enjoying herself!

After dropping Belle off, I followed B to Old Town Coffee cafe in Jaya One and had a leisurely brunch of mee siam + fried chicken + white coffee + a good read. It's a simple joy that I love. Reading and having something to nibble and sip *smiles*

Then {because I can't resist books} B dropped me off at the MPH book sale. So there I was carrying a cardboard box sifting through piles, tables and displays of books. Somehow, the smell of books and the pretty covers excite me and make me happy. I sound slightly delusional and mental, but it's just an awesome feeling! So, I now am the proud owner of several new books. How many exactly? Well... I lost count. *gulp* *snickers* I can't wait to wipe'em down and arrange them on my new white bookshelves!

And as I write this, a drama unfolds. Someone called my boss and told her that someone broke into their house. B and Mic {one of B's best friends} went there to check and report what happened as my boss is on holiday. Long story short, the police {heaps of them} broke down  the front gate and checked the house but no one was there. They may have escaped by the backdoor. *sigh. idiot hooligans will have their dues* Just called my boss just to tell her the news and at least she is relieved. What a way to start her holidays. Poor child.

Anyways, am off for dinner in a bit to savour the delights of Nando's with B and an old friend of ours who is getting married. We will later camp out on the couch to watch movies or Supernatural {which we are recently addicted too}. I was also at one time writing with her at Seventeen Magazine *smiles* Tomorrow, there is a Raya open house and a spa session in the works. This is truly an eventful day. See you soon blogworld.

a walk in the park

The weekend is upon us {can I hear a *woot woot*?}.
And to start the day of we are taking Belle {my beagle} and Moshi {B's schnauzer} to Desa Park City for a walk. It is kind of late in the morning for a walk but the weather is a tad gloomy and a its a little windy... in my opinion perfect weather for dog walking! *smiles*
I am hoping that Belle will be on her best behavior since Belle has bouts of craziness and stubbornness {an uber bad combination}. Belle has been so excited at the prospect of going that she has been nudging my leg to remind  me to bring her out *snickers* She is such a sweet heart.
Anyways, gotta go my blog friends.
Have an awesome Saturday.

Belle during her younger days *smiles*

whizzing weekend

The weekend has come and gone. I did not manage to play with my pretty paper nor clean my closet nor edit any photographs nor go to church which is just BAD!! I did however have dinner with friends, spent some time with B and his family for lunch, finally met with Baby Lauren {who is just tiny adorable}, spent time with the adorable Belle, slept away the cramps that the crimson rivers brought and wrote several articles for Home & Decor magazine. I am tired. And moody. I reckon I will be going off to bed now. Will be going for an Adobe Illustrator class tomorrow - please pray that I don't fall asleep and that I retain all the info learnt *snickers*
Good night for some and good morning to others.

a year halved

Seen @ Banksy Prints

OMG July is here, can you believe it?!? I have barely started on my 2011 to-do list and I only have half a year more {egad!} to get things sorted. Then there is the Project Happily Ever After which I have to yet to really get into and Project Love Nest which is dragging along ssssllllloooowwwwllllllyyyyy. Project Let's Create should now be called Project Let's Just Start and Project Self Improvement a.k.a The Princess Project is not really working.

Work has been keeping me busy. Wanted to yell at my colleague for wrongly accusing me of something but decided to hold it in and be the better person. Have been getting a couple more articles to write for Home & Decor, so that's been good. Compliments from the Editor makes writing all the more enjoyable I have to say *blush blush * grins grins*

Oh yes...
  • My best friend in the whole wide world {the sister of my heart} gave birth to a cute little girl called Lauren {I can't wait to meet her!!!}
  • I had a spot of good news yesterday so am just very happy. A lot of prep work to be done but it's all good - Thank you God!
  • I finally bought the book One Day and yes, it will be the first book I start reading in the Love Nest!

Anyways, it's a warm sunny afternoon and Belle and I are going for a shower - Belle was such a good dog at the vet today *smiles* {I kinda sound like a proud parent don't I}! Then it's off to play with my pretty paper or to clean my closet... pretty paper... messy closet.... pretty paper.... messy closet.... tough choice indeed! *snickers* I also have dinner plans with a bunch of my old friends - it's always great to hangout with the lot of them - laughter usually ensues. Hope all of you have a good weekend ahead. Am trying to fit in some time to edit some photographs of my trip to the Philippines, my trip to Hanoi and loads of other random pretties I have taken. Till then, toodles poodles.

master of ceremonies

Today is my brother's wedding here in Malaysia.
There will be a Chinese tea ceremony in the morning
followed by a sit-down Chinese dinner in the evening.
I will be the master of ceremonies for the dinner and
have yet to develop the speech. I had initially planned
to quickly scramble some words together during work
this past week, but works been mental and I still have
another article for Home & Decor to submit!!!
So, here I am... trying to find the words to aptly capture
what my heart feels for my brother and my new sister-in-law.
{I am such a procrastinator - I get so pissed with myself sometimes}
My dad being my dad, doesn't want to give a speech which
is quite sad. I would like him to atleast say a few words to
thank the guests for coming and saying all these nice flowery
things about me {I hope there are nice flowery things to say}.
Perhaps he will have a change of heart then.
Anyways, have a good weekend. Belle is at doggy boarding
{she looked so adorable today, prancing around like a little pony}.
I have heaps of posts that I want to create and so many ideas in my little mind. So do drop by to visit next week... or maybe the next next week *snickers*

sweet dreams

Today has been a long day but a good one.
Lots achieved *yay yay*
Wanted to write a long post.
Wanted to talk about my published article.
Will probably do that tomorrow.
Just wanted to drop by with a 'hello' and a 'goodnight'.
Sweet dreams blog land!

No Longer a Baby

Another weekend has flown by and in two days time I will be in the Philippines to celebrate my brother's wedding. I am excited! A Holiday + A Destination Wedding + Family Time + B time... what's there not to love?

The only sad part is that Belle the beagle would have to go to doggy day care. We have been blessed to have met Elizabeth, who takes care of dogs in her family home. There is a big garden for the dogs to roam and play, a shaded porch for hot afternoons and a cool house where they can roam free. She even allowed Belle the luxury of sleeping with her last night when we decided to put Belle there for a night to just get her used to being at Elizabeth's while we are away {Belle suffers from slight socialising disabilities - we have a feeling she thinks that she is human and hence is afraid and can't quite connect with other dogs but she is heaps better now}.

This weekend, I managed successfully to get most of the things done for the trip {including a new luggage bag - black - but with 4 wheels for easy maneuvering}. I also spent quite a bit of time with my family and B's family which was great, spent the whole of Saturday night with my girlfriends and their other halves over drinks and cake and of course, it was awesome to spend time with B as well. I love doing the everyday things with him. Spending time with him is new everyday *smiles smiles* I wish the weekend did not have to end as I still have a couple more things to do... well there is always today and Tuesday I suppose.

Am leaving you with two photos of my baby Belle {who is no longer a baby}. She looks super cute. Don't you want to hug this cute little {Ok, I lie. She is NOT little} beagle!

Belle & I share a *hug hug*

My Saturday's

It's early Saturday morning and I was awaken by Belle's barks and whines {I think she thought it was a weekday still}. So, I dragged myself out of bed {literally} and slunk downstairs. The weather then {and even now as I look out of my white lacy curtains} is gloomy and grey. Perfect for lie-ins and curling up in bed with a good book or a movie or an addictive TV show {am currently watching 'Make It or Break It', a TV series about gymnasts}. Not mumbling to an overexcited hungry beagle! Nevertheless, Belle is so adorable with her big doggy eyes that seem to be able to melt the coldest and meanest of hearts!

I remember when I was teen, my Saturday mornings revolved around the telly. I would bring my diary and my crafts material and camp out in front of the idiot box for hours. I would make myself cheese nuggets and a tall glass of something nice and just sit on a couch and watch endless cartoons and special Saturday screenings like the 'Marvelous Hour' which used to screen episodes of Spiderman cartoons. I was hooked on it for some reason. In between watching and stuffing my adolescent face with junk food, I would make cards and bookmarks and write long soppy entries in my diary about the week gone by or plans for the future or some other crush or obsession for the week.

When I was 16 and 17, my Saturday's were spent at the shopping mall with my besties. We ate at McD's and baskin robbins, went for movies and hung out at Intencity {the IN place to be which was essentially a large arcade!} We would scout for people we knew, try on clothes we could never afford and just gossip. I loved those carefree days.

Upon entering college, my Saturday's were about catching up with assignments, working at my part time job as a waitress at a cafe and hanging out with friends. When I joined the workforce as an underpaid PR executive at a local PR consultancy, my Saturday was spent catching up on sleep. I would literally wake up in time for lunch and then just hangout with my friends. I didn't do very much in term of productivity but I guess it was just my body getting used to the working world.

My obsession with sleeping in on Saturday's never truly went away. After quitting the underpaid executive job, my Saturday's were better. I still slept in quite often but it was not all the time. A group of my friends {also B's friends} used to organise fun things to do like excursions to waterfalls and new places. Some waterfalls and hikes were torturous for unfit me but they were all good experiences - some best not to be repeated, others stored away under 'have to visit again'.

My Saturday's became more productive and more meaningful when I started dating B. There were so many activities that we planned to do that we could have been out from morning till nightfall. When 'Project Happily Ever After Started' and 'Project Love Nest' started, our weekends were even more compact. Catching up on sleep is something we try to do but it is not easy when you have two on-going Projects and so many hobbies you want to enjoy and indulge in. I love this new Saturday arrangements. B gets his own time to do his thing and I get time to do my own and then we meet later on in the afternoon. Saturday's are also one of Belle's bath days which is most often a good bonding session with this little girl.

The future Saturday's to come will change again I suppose. I will not be staying in this home where I have lived for almost 30 years. I will not be able to snooze in bed, just me and my pillows and soft toys and cozy comforter and a book. I would instead wake up with my husband by my side and the sounds of children {not my own just yet} laughing in our condo's swimming pool probably jolting me from a restful sleep. On the other hand, we might have to wake up early to go to the market, clean the house or do any of these grown up chores which I have so far managed to escape from for sometime now {lucky me!}.

But on the much brighter side of things, I will have Saturday mornings in my own home, doing my own thing with B right there beside me ~ I reckon that would be just awesome. I aspire to be a domestic goddess and whip up delicious breakfasts and cakes and home cooked meals for the week ahead to be freezed and reheated when needed *smiles* One can certainly hope and work towards it!

So it's still early Saturday morning and Belle is lounging in the living room. I will be joining her shortly and celebrating another glorious weekend {and a long one at that since Monday is a public holiday}. There is much to do today and this weekend ~ bring Belle to the vet, visit a local craft fair {where I will try not to buy things I don't need}, search for a red bride's maids dress for my brother's wedding in June, purchase some new clothes for work, edit some photos, arrange my closet and yada yada yada... the list goes on! I am hoping I get to do at the very least, a quarter of all I really want to get done.

Here's to Saturday! Possibly the bestest day of the week!!!

Hear Me I Pray

The long weekend/holiday for me has gone by in a flash. Did I enjoy my short trip to Singapore? Yes. And No. The Lion King was awesome. I can't begin to describe how magical it was for me. I also found several good deals for my patterned paper, arts and crafts, several hair bands and some home ID stuff. I had a good chat over fruit pie and tea with my cousin and I had interesting experiences and conversations with G and Daves.

Despite all this though, there were two thing that bothered me during the trip. The lesser one was the work that awaited me in the office. During my first day on vacay, the office called and bothered me with really trivial questions. The kind of questions not worth asking and not worth answering but I had to entertain them simply because my boss, although briefed already, would probably freak.

The bigger thing that has been bothering me and still is for the matter of fact is Belle my little beagle. She is still ill. While I was in Singapore, B had to take emergency leave to bring her to the vet as she had an infection on her incision. To cut the story short, Belle seems to have a reaction to the sutures that the vet did for her when she went to get neutered. This resulted in her muscles forming a sort of sac and there was heaps of fluid in it. It is abnormal and the vet is perplexed as well. To make matters worse, her organs seem to be all joined together instead of floating about freely in her body. The vet says it could have been genetic or something that just happened to her.

Belle has to take pretty strong medication, steroids and antibiotics for the moment which for the long run will mostly cause problems to her kidney and liver and in the short term, make her thirsty and hungry leading up to obesity. She also pants a lot and her heart races so quickly all the time. Being a natural worrier, I worry about her. She is just so young and she seems to be in such pain. Seeing her shaking and panting while she sleeps breaks my heart. I can't wait for her to get better. I can't wait for this pain in her to stop.

I don't want to go to work because I feel annoyed at times. Like how I have to still do work which is not mine anymore plus my current workload. Then there are the lazy people in the office who just do the things that they have been told to do and at times don't even take the time to read and understand the work given to them. They just keep saying that they don't know. Their personal work comes up tops for them all the time as well. *ARGHHHHHH* just writing that down makes me so mad cos it makes me think about them and how I have to see their faces tomorrow. Friends are friends but really, don't take me for a doormat or a fool for I am neither.

*Breathe*
*Breathe*
*Breathe*

I tell myself this all the time like a mantra of sorts and I call on Jesus to help be get through this difficult times. There are so many other annoyances and problems in my life but there are also so many good things and blessings in my life and I need to keep reminding myself about them.

So hear me I pray. Hear my prayers and my worries and lend me a hand to get through it all. For with You, everything is possible. For You carry me in times of trouble and walk with me each and every step of the way. Hear me I pray and  heal Belle, my relatives who are ill and aunty S. Help those who have lost everything and give them hope. Comfort those who are grieving and protect all those in danger. Soothe the troubled brow and hold the lonely I pray. Amen.

Have a good week ahead all.

Belle is 1 today!!!

You nestled and snuggled up into our hearts so very quickly
and no matter that you are naughty, sneaky
and have crazy eyes... you are such an adorable beagle
and you know what Belle, you make our days so much
brighter and better by being in it.
Here's to many more years of having you
to lick, snuggle with, muck around with
and just love... *smiles smiles smiles*

Happy 1st Birthday
my Darling Belle.

Hello Weekend!

The weekend is here in all it's shiny glory! I don't have many plans outlined but there is pampering session for B and I in 2 hours and then a party for a girl friend's 2 year old daughter. Tomorrow is a 'dowry session' thingy {I don't know what it's called} @ the restaurant where I will be holding my wedding and a community tea party at 3pm in my neighborhood. B and I were also thinking of going shopping for lights and stuff for the 'Love Nest'... but we will see how it goes. I am a little traumatized about the amounts of $ that we have been spending. It's by the thousands!!! On the hindsight, I feel so grown up and it's daunting but at the same time, it's really exciting.

Belle just got back from the vet's yesterday evening. She was groggy and in pain it seemed as she went to get neutered and to do an op to remove a hernia of sorts. The doctor found something abnormal about her organs and the tissues and fat that was growing around them but the vet could not tell us very much till she got more tests done on Belle and we can't send her for these tests just yet as she has to heal from these wounds first.

It is so very painful to see her dazed and shivering in pain {or was she cold or something else entirely} with no appetite. The once lovely, energetic bundle of fur is missing... I can't wait to have her back to replace this zombie lookalike. Do pray with me that she will recover fast from this op and that there is nothing majorly wrong with her internally as well.

Anyways, it is still a little early for me to be up on a Saturday I feel *snickers*, and after watching several episodes of "Pretty Little Liars", I think I need my beauty sleep! Here's to an awesome weekend all.

20 Feb 2011

The first day of being 29 was pretty good. I had a leisurely sleep and read in bed {which resulted me in missing church and I was too lazy to go for evening mass - the only thing I regret about today}, had a chicken pie for lunch, played games online and had cuddles with Belle.

I also wanted to buy a new phone today since my phone has been wonky for the past couple of months, so B and I went to the phone store to buy it but due to some technical stuff, we could not buy the phone today - bleh! So, hopefully by this time next week, I will be the proud owner of a new blackberry bold or torch - I have not made up my mind yet!

Then there was a poke into a wedding dress store called Cherry Pom Pom {yea... odd name but kinda cute} but there wasn't any dresses that made me go "WOW! I want!". After the poking around, we had a coffee at this coffee place called... urm... Dr Coffee or something in Solaris, Mont Kiara. The ice mocha was pretty good and the interior of the cafe was quite nice too. I guess it is a good break away from our usual haunts of Starbucks and CoffeeBean cafes.

After Solaris, B and I went to a bridal house to just have another poke around and we were pleasantly surprised by the salesperson who attended to us and the bridal house that we went to {more on this in another post}. Since, it was almost closing time, we went to my place and picked up my folks and went for my birthday dinner which was not a Chinese dinner but a Japanese udon one at a new place in Jaya One. The food was very decently priced and quite tasty too - I believe this will not be the last time we patronise this place.

The best part of the day for me was grocery shopping with my parents and B. It was just nice to shop together {everyone at their own aisles} but then meeting together to talk prices and varieties. We then came back, had a lot of Belle time and watched an episode of Hell Cats and then here I am typing away. A definite "Thumbs Up" kind of day  *smiles smiles*

I don't feel like going to work tomorrow. I have so many ideas in my mind and so many things I want to do which is not work related - bah! If only we won a huge huge lottery superbonanze type jackpot tomorrow! One can certainly wish.

Anyways, here's to a new week ahead!! I look forward to writing more about my birthday celebration, photos that I have been taking, my projects and heaps of other things. May it be an awesome one for all of you.

Doggy Love - Baby Belle?

This little beagle reminds me so much of Belle {or at one time, SnickerDoodles} when she first came to live with me. The shiny fur with the sour smell {she couldn't bathe for a month}, the little puppy body, the big lipid eyes begging for cuddles and treats {she still does it}... so like my Belle. However, in Belle's case, the books would have been torn into shreds! *snickers snickers* Now as I sit typing on the laptop, I look lovingly at Belle curled up with her new pillows all snuggled up and snoring... my heart melts. I so love Belle!!!

Back to work

After a long weekend of Chinese New Year celebrations which included long lie-ins in bed, reading, endless watching of American Idol 10 & Australia's Junior Master Chef reruns. stuffing my face with food, gambling, not doing any work at all {horrible horrible me!}, shopping and just day dreaming, I finally have to get back to reality ---> it's back to work for B and I ~ bleh!!!

I will miss getting up late and snoozing and missing breakfast {I know it is a bad habit} and being able to see B and hangout with him whenever we want. I like playing with Belle and seeing my relatives and being with my family. Am looking forward to the next holidays and can't wait for the weekend {It's going to be an uber busy one}!!!
*grins grins*
