It was a lovely Friday

I had a plan for yesterday ~ it was supposed to be a "me" day.
Massage, shopping, a movie, coffee and a meal.
After all its the last "freedom" Friday as I call it.
But the plans changed and my mum followed me to 1Utama shopping centre.
At first because of all the different timings and the crappy phone
lines, I was super annoyed but I did not want to ruin a good day.
So I plastered a smile on my face and held my tongue
and to my surprise and my delight, it was an awesome day
{plus there was 25% off the books that I wanted to buy!} *smiles*

I think I needed a day out with my mum more then I realised.
I thought she would be happy that she would be able to have a sushi
lunch with me and then watch a movie, the joy here is that I felt
happier then she did just enjoying ourselves as we used to those
Saturdays way before weddings, kids and dogs entered the
picture. I also stayed over in my old room and it was nice.
Different since I am used to sleeping next to a
snoring B but familiar and comforting all at the same time.
Belly was ill as well so most of my night was spent cleaning her puke
and comforting the poor girl. She is better this morning.

We watched"Brave", and how apt a movie it was.
Besides the lovely and haunting scenery so wonderfully presented
by Pixar and Disney, the storyline was wonderful and touched on
the mother-daughter relationship, forgiveness and acceptance.
Yes, I did the whole weepy thing *huhuhuhu*

There was also a bonus cartoon "La Luna" which was a simple
yet delightful cartoon. Loved it *smiles*

Definitely would recommend "Brave" to those of you who love
Disney cartoons and want that warm fuzzy feeling. It's a very
different kind of fuzzy though, a bit mature fuzzy if it makes
any sense. Btw, the soundtrack is pretty awesome too.
Go watch it. Happy Saturday, its a busy one for me!

Happy Friday

Super right and true words.
Today is the last weekday that I get to enjoy doing the things
that make me happy without a care in the world.
I begin yet another new journey this Monday doing something new.
More on this soon... in the meantime...
HAPPY FRIDAY!
I feel its gonna be an awesome one.

The Debut

Today was the debut for Hearts & Crafts.
And although I am super tired from the standing and the
excitement and the butterflies, it is all worth it.
I managed to make a small profit and it's just awesome.
My little project is not for me to make a thousands of $$$....
if it happens, then just awesome! but the main goal for me
is to just sell my handmade items and share my love for handmade
pretty happy things *smiles*

It's true. The time that we take to cut, stick, stamp, sew, press,
measure, pack, design and present doesn't quite justify the pricing...
but it is the joy in creating, the joy in seeing something take shape,
the excitement of getting to work with the materials that I love...
this is what makes it all so worthwhile.

I am truly blessed that I have B and my family and friends who
believein my cause and in my pet project.
It is indeed heartwarming to see so many people turn up
just to support me and probably buy
stuff that they don't need *smiles* its definitely a moment to
treasure. Thank you God for such a wonderful day.

10 years on...

She pauses.
She remembers.
She embraces.
She tears.
She forgives.
She loves.
She promises.
She releases.
She breathes.

My Olympus XZ-1

Last December I read about the Panasonic GX1 camera {read about the lusting here} and totally wanted to get it. When I got B to go with me to check out the cameras {two eyes are better than one}, I felt that the camera didn't quite fit well in my hand. Sure the features were pretty good and the body was somewhat pretty hot for a camera, but it wasn't the right fit for me... and the price was really a turn off. So in the end, I didn't get the Panasonic GX1.

Months passed by and though I kinda searched half heartedly for a camera I didn't get one. The internet search ended as well. However, once my trip to Europe was confirmed, I began to look for another camera and after searching online, talking to friends and even trying it out at a store, I knew that I had found my camera. So ladies and gentlemen, even though this announcement is pretty late {I got the camera on April 10, 2012} I would like to introduce to you my new camera the Olympus XZ-1 *woot woot*

The Olympus XZ-1 is not a new model nor is it super swanky but it has a lot of potential and when I held it in my hands and snapped away, it was super awesome! So far the camera has not let me down and am hoping that it will perform awesomely when I travel to Europe. To read more about the Olympus XZ-1 and to have a product tour, click here.

Am so looking forward to more adventures with my new camera. As for my loyal Canon Ixus, it is now in the capable hands of my brother so that he can record more moment with Ethan {my new nephew}. The Canon Ixus was possibly one of the most expensive things I have ever bought but it never ever let me down. Twas a good camera. But it was time to move on.
Happy Snapping everyone!

Book Adulterer

I am a book adulterer.
I read several books at one time
and am never loyal to just one book
though there may be periods where I just cling to
one book refusing to part with it till it ends
and I finally put it down with a satisfied sigh
or at times with a scowl or with a tear in my eye.

I love books.
*happy sigh*

Since everyone was talking about 'The Hunger Games',
it piqued my curiosity and I googled it and loved what I read.
Was not able to catch the movie in the cinemas sadly
but will surely watch it once the DVD is out.

So back to 'The Hunger Games'... I managed to buy
myself a boxed set and started reading them last week
and I could not put it down.
It was nothing like how I imagined it to be.
It was quite gruesome and brutal.
I would NOT like to be Katniss Everdeen that's for sure!

My night time... sometimes day time indulgences.

Then there is my 'Game of Thrones' books.
I am currently at book 3 part 2.
Have taken a hiatus to reading it since I have been
having several dreams involving scenes from the
book/tv series. B thought it best to stop for a bit and it has
helped heaps. I also just finished reading some fluff 'The Manny'
and am about a quarter way with 'The Story of Beautiful Girl'.
A pretty good story so far but fantasy stories have
always been my weakness.

If only there were more hours in the day for reading.
My book list is heaving and I have not finished the
things I wanted to read for the month of May!!!
*gulp* Well here's to reading and to books.

She Cooks: Roman Chicken

I decided to cook yesterday.
After all since I am married I should try.
I usually shy away from the kitchen but lately
since I have been bumming around, I find myself
attracted to my expensive pretty kitchen with its pots,
tools and fancy-ish equipment.
Perhaps I am getting more confident in trying new dishes
and playing around with new ingredients.
Or perhaps its my inner-Martha Stewart come out to play.
*huhuhu* Whatever it is. I kinda like it.
And I am hoping that I will be doing more cooking soon.
Nothing fancy or major but I get a feeling my pretty
cook books on the shelf will see some action this year.

So today I tried a recipe called Roman Chicken.
The recipe below was given to me by an ex-colleague.

The end result was tasty.
Not super-awesomeness-going-to-get-a-medal-for-this
type of good but it was nice and flavourful. It can certainly
be improved on. Will try to buy yellow and red peppers
{I only had one green pepper with me} and marinade
the chicken a little first before cooking it the next time.

Here's to more successful and fun cooking times in my
little kitchen. If you have any awesome recipes for a beginner
that you would like to share, do let me know. Thanks.

Phone Casing

Seen @ Society 6

Circular Motion by Steven Womack.
Loving the different colours.
Hating that Samsung Galaxy phones
have very limited choices of casings *bleh*
On a brighter side, I save $$$ by not having
to buy heaps of casings *snickers*

Also, I have just started instagraming.

so when I realised that Instagram was available for Android
phones, I obviously downloaded it *grin grins*

Anyways, if you would like to follow me on instagram,

That kind of love

I think women are generally like this.
They look constantly for real, ridiculous,
inconvenient, consuming, crazy, can't live
without each other love in all sorts of places
in all sorts of men...
and sometimes, there are some lucky
women who manage to see, feel, grasp, keep
have and own this kind of love.
Lucky are these women.
