Washi tape madness

Washi tape is essentially masking tape made from Japanese washi paper. Washi comes from wa meaning Japanese and shi meaning paper, and the term is used to describe paper made by hand in the traditional manner. Washi paper is commonly made using fibers from the bark of the gampi tree, the mitsumata shrubor the paper mulberry, but also can be made using bamboo, hemp, rice, and wheat.

Washi tape comes in pretty colors and patterns and comes in a roll like regular tape, and is often translucent. It’s been the “in” thing since it was launched and so many companies in the US and the UK have been producing their own designs and brands of washi tape. And yes, I am in love with washi tape and would love to have rolls and rolls of pretty patterned and coloured tape *snickers* And yes, I do hope to one day use it instead of just keeping it in my drawer. {Note: Information on washi tape was taken from various websites in the interweb}.
