things on my mind

I wanted to blog about a lot of good things today since I am on emergency leave today and had some free time... but the words and the feeling of bubbly happiness passed me by.

I try not to feel like this and it has been some time since I felt this lump in my heart and such a dash in my spirit. It all started with a simple conversation between my colleagues and I but ended up in my 'career roadmap' being severely detoured to say the least. Besides finding out about said detour, I have to contend with the fact that I am being underpaid.

I feel short changed. I feel angry. I feel let down. I feel disappointed. I feel small. I feel useless. I feel like I am being pushed in a direction which I am not quite happy to take.

I really really hate this feeling. I feel as if I am not good enough and I question my worth which I hate to do. *sniff sniff* I don't want to sulk at this pity party for one but it's a challenge for me to grin and bear it all and inject that good old team spirit and passion in my job.

Tomorrow marks a new day. No more blogging during office hours I guess though I hope I can manage to squeeze some minutes to do so here and there during lunch at the very least.

I must remind myself that there is much to look forward to and much to be thankful and happy about. I must keep my spirits up and know that God, my rock and strength will lead me to the path that He has chosen for me. In the mean time, I just have to pray for patience, intervention and perseverance and do my best and keep doing that smiling-everything-is-okay act, so much so that I will believe that it is all real.

Pray for me?

Colour Catalogues

There are just so many things to say about these inspiration filled, coloured coordinated pages from Lovely Clusters *smiles smiles* It has become a fast favourite of mine. Seriously addictive. I admire Rachel Follett for her awesome possum choices in her colours and layouts and hope one day that I can as inspired as she is. I am now just hooked to admiring the pretty things and colour coordinated items! *snickers*

Friday Snippets

Gloomy. Wet. Cold. Rainy. Weak sunlight.
That’s how it has been this Friday.

Had lunches with B at one of the stalls near my office.
It was quite empty, unlike the usual hustle and bustle over space.
After lunches munches, we had coffee @ Coffeebean
{one peach latte for me ~ yums} and talked
about Project Happily Ever After.

Am getting more excited slowly but surely about
Project Happily Ever After
though am a little overwhelmed at the enormity of the project.
This is way BIGGER than branch launches in
Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City!!!
Plus, one tends to set the bar higher for one’s own personal events!
Anyways, I am sure once I put it all down onto paper
{Yay! Lists making time}, things will be  less crazy and scary.

One of my colleagues is leaving the hovel. I will miss her.
I am comforted that she is moving to another company
that is not that far away and we can still meet up for lunch.

I have been interweb surfing again {my boss is on 2 weeks MC}.
Felt guilty and made a plan of what I was going
to do for the rest of the year and
did heaps of spring cleaning and filing  which is good.
I feel neater and more efficient already.
Note to self: MUST replicate this process at home!

On to interweb surfing… it seems that the more websurfing I do,
the more inspired I get which is just an awesome feeling.
Hurdles in my path include but is not limited to: procrastination,
Poor time management, bad organisation for arts and crafts, abundant distractions.

I should really find something work related to do.
Btw, “Kung Fu Panda 2” was pretty good.
Inner Peace! Inner Peace!

Happy Friday peeps!
I can smell the weekend...
its smells like productivity and lemon poppy seed cake...

Random Ramblings

Was a little too lazy to blog a full-on post. So here are some of my random ramblings for today. Happy Wednesday!! {its midweek!!! *smiles smiles*}
  • While going through some blogs online, I relised this need to create. So it would be awesome if I could go home now, take out my arts and crafts stuff and finally create something {I have heaps of ideas up my sleeve}. This has also sparked a long dormant desire in me to quickly get my arts and crafts stuff sorted out so that I can move into my Love Nest and have a cosy crafts corner *smiles smiles*
  • Divorcing {which btw, is an ugly ugly word}. I am in the midst of divorcing the old company I used to work for. It’s a hard bittersweet process. At times I am tempted quite often to let this pent up annoyance and irritation out. But I need to stop and check myself since control and patience are virtues I strive to uphold. I just wish there were no stupid and lazy people around and more cooperative people around me. The company and the world at large would surely be a better place if there were more hardworking, cooperative people who used their brains and had good EQ instead of sitting on their behinds, taking 3 hour lunches, coming in late and basically doing jack all and still getting their wages {yes, it is so so so unfair I tell you!}
  • Post it to self to not take offense or care if people don’t invite you for lunch and talk about it right in front of you and then later realise you are there {did I shrink} and then invite you insincerely. Saying ‘no thank you’ and going about my own business would be a better/cheaper lunch.
  • Note to self to never be swayed to buy thick daily planners. The simple pocket book type which has been my friend for several years is good enough. Anyone know where to get a simple pocketbook type one now?
  • It is so awesome to have B  say I am his wife. I feel like giggling every time he says it
  • B and I are going to watch Kung Fu Panda 2 tomorrow *smiles* I can’t wait. I heart free date nights!!
  • I think I will have some tea soon to ease my troubled tummy and to relax some.

An impulse to Soar

There have been many times when I have felt this way...
this exhilaration of wanting to soar instead of creep
but I never raise up to the challenge...
I have had enough though,
the next time this feeling comes along,
I reckon I am going to grab it and soar on wings of eagles
for He gives me strength and He is the wind beneath my wings.

Cushy Lounge

Seen @ PB Teen

I absolutely love everything about this photo including of course the lounge which looks uber comfy. The styling is just awesome really and it would be just so great if I could have everything just like this picture. The cushions are so adorable, the white carpet with the blue circles, the white trunk type thingy, the frames on the wall and the Japanese lanterns are all things I heart!!! I just feel like slouching down onto this lounge to read while sipping on something hot and yummy. Simply awesome. *grin grin grin*

The Calligrapher’s Daughter

Seen @ BookXcess

The Calligrapher’s Daughter by Eugenia Kim         RRP: RM99.90 Price: RM19.90
Najin Han, the privileged daughter of a calligrapher, longs to choose her own destiny. Smart & headstrong, she is encouraged by her mother-but her stern father is determined to maintain tradition, especially as the Japanese steadily gain control of his beloved country. When he seeks to marry 14-year-old Najin into an aristocratic family, her mother defies generations of obedient wives & instead sends her daughter to serve in the king’s court as a companion to a young princess. But the king is soon assassinated, & the centuries-old dynastic culture comes to its end. In the shadow of the dying monarchy, Najin begins a journey through increasing oppression that will change her world forever. As she desperately seeks to continue her education, will the unexpected love she finds along the way be enough to sustain her through the violence & subjugation her country continues to face? Spanning 30 years,
The Calligapher’s Daughter is an exquisite novel about a country torn between ancient customs & modern possibilities, a family ultimately united by love & a woman who never gives up her search for freedom.

This will probably be the next book that I purchse {yes yes... I know I have heaps of unread delights waiting in boxes and big big black bags... but you know me, the book collector and lover}! The synopsis of ths story sounds really good and look at the price!!! RM19.90! You know what that is right? A steal!

For the benefit of my readers who are not familliar, books in Malaysia are not cheap. They go from RM32.90 upwards depending on who the publisher is, whether it is a paperback or a hardcover and if they are new books or older ones. Most savvy Malaysians and of course book lovers will know to shop during sales.

The best book sale I have been to is the Big Bad Wolf book sale. I bought heaps and heaps of books for a fraction of the price {I paid maybe 10%-25% of the original price} and saved heaps as well. My parents kinda support my passion for books but hate the fact that I have so many boxes of them. I hate that too but really, with the job that I have and my passion for arts and crafts, interweb surfing, TV series watching and etc... books get sidelined at times.

BookXcess the company that also organises the Big Bad Wolf sale is also an awsome place to buy books as the prices are reduced quite considerably. I love the fact that more people have access to books now. I can't wait to dive into my new books and flip through the pages and touch their covers.......... {ok... I just sounded like a wierdo. forgive me! I just love books!!!}. So if you are a Malaysian who loves books and has never been to BookXcess, please please go {Btw, am not endorsed or paid to write this. I just heart books}. It's an awesome book haven! Happy Reading all!!!

Spring is in the air

Seen @ Design Rulz

Designed by Jordi Vayreda this interior layout is a sight for sore eyes with soft pinks and dashes of green. When I see this photos, I feel spring in the air. I feel alive. I feel like I want to read a book in a park on a blanket . I want to curl up on the seemingly comfy sofa to read or to invite my girlfriends over for tea {I seem to want to read and curl up in bed alot, right}. I now am in love with grey sofas and pink, white and green themed pillows. I love the simple white kitchen, bathroom and bedroom as well! Simplicity works best at times.

But really does this interior not beckon to you or speak to you?? Do you not suddenly want to go shopping for things which are green or pink? Ok. If you are a guy probably not and if you are not into interior design and don’t like pinks and greens, then maybe you would not get it too… but really… really… spring is in the air. I shall keep an eye out for pretty green fresh things *smiles smiles snickers snickers*

Hope is wanting something so eagerly that
– in spite of all the evidence that you’re not going to get it –
you go right on wanting it.

- Norman Vincent Peale -

Hope is so powerful.
Hope is intoxicating.
Hope and faith is all we have to hold on to at times.
I hoped. I hope. I will always keep on hoping.

chasing dreams

I sometimes feel like this...
ok... ok... so I feel like this alot.
I day dream plenty {enough for the entire village I am sure}
but at the same time I worry, indulge and fear about the
whats-ifs, the scaries and the doubts.
Perhaps now is the time to rise above it all,
to finally believe a 110% that all things are possible and to
finally chase those dreams and make them a reality.
{I should really start with a list *smiles*}

Rachel Whiting: Photographer

Seen @ Homedit

Rachel Whiting is a London based freelance photographer who loves modern interior design and clean lines.Like an interior photography must be sensitive to all the elements that will appear in the final print. All the objects from a room look good, but in a print, these objects may cluster the image - Homedit

I love the composition of Rachel's photographs. The interiors and exteriors and odds and ends that she photographs are already stunning but when Rachel takes her photos, it seems as if she knows just the right essence to capture. I also love that she captures all sorts of things and makes them so beautiful. I especially love the last photo which shows a beautiful wedding bouquet that is so inspiringly pretty.
