I am going to Explore

There has been silence on my end for some time. I have not fully expressed my thoughts in this little space of mine because there were always a 101 other things to do ~ like read, play online games {Solitaire Blitz & Tetris Battle are my new favs.}, watch my TV series, arrange my Love Nest and a whole host of other things.

But today, I thought I would just take some time to tell you about the new change that is coming. I have penned my letter of resignation with the hovel and will be meeting with my boss to hand it in to him.

Explore.

Yes, that is what I will be doing.
Exploring new opportunities.
Exploring new parts of myself.
Exploring new things.
*Read more about my one little word for 2012 "Explore" here*

Why today you ask? It has been well to put it simply, a rather trying day. So, I thought to myself, one more nasty email and I will leave but instead I got a nasty phone call and thereafter, I guess there was just nothing letf. To solidify my decision, I read today's excerpt from Our Daily Bread.

It was about trust {read full excerpt here}. My fav lines were: *We can trust our faithful God to be there in all of our struggles. “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you” (Isaiah 43:2).*

So I am putting my trust in Him for all that is to come and for all that I am about to do. It’s not going to be easy {but most things aren't} and I will be thinking and questioning my sanity on this but I know in my heart that it is time to go.

Pray for me dear readers that a suitable job tailored just for me will fall on my lap soon.

Thank you for reading and I look forward to writing more again as how it used to be.

Washi tape madness

Washi tape is essentially masking tape made from Japanese washi paper. Washi comes from wa meaning Japanese and shi meaning paper, and the term is used to describe paper made by hand in the traditional manner. Washi paper is commonly made using fibers from the bark of the gampi tree, the mitsumata shrubor the paper mulberry, but also can be made using bamboo, hemp, rice, and wheat.

Washi tape comes in pretty colors and patterns and comes in a roll like regular tape, and is often translucent. It’s been the “in” thing since it was launched and so many companies in the US and the UK have been producing their own designs and brands of washi tape. And yes, I am in love with washi tape and would love to have rolls and rolls of pretty patterned and coloured tape *snickers* And yes, I do hope to one day use it instead of just keeping it in my drawer. {Note: Information on washi tape was taken from various websites in the interweb}.

Wax seal it!

Wax seals personalise letters and keep all our letters secret. Plus it adds to that old world feel and brings us back to the day of long ago. Of Queen Elizabeth, Robin Hood and Game of Thrones… ok… that’s me with my head in the clouds {or books!} but really, how awesome are waxed seals?

My cousin got me my first seal and a stick of dark red wax and it looked way awesome. I have honestly not had the time to use it {me and my procrastination problem and all} but I know I will be using it soon. It’s just awesome! *smiles smiles grins grins*

Anyways, I just ordered another seal and the package {see image one for the package I will be receiving} consists of a stamp, a box to put everything inside, a spoon to put the wax and 2 candles and the best part, 3 sticks of wax {1 gold, 1 silver, 1 dark red}. I can’t wait to get it in mid/end April *woot woot*

Tangerine Tinged Weddings

Seen @ Postcards & Pretties

Although Project Happily Ever After has been completed,
I still do find myself buying wedding magazines and
browsing wedding wedsites.

Weddings are just such happy events filled with such beautiful
details that I can't help but still gawk and stare starry-eyed
at them. So when I saw some weddings which featured
Tangerine Tango accents, I thought, let's make another
post our of Pantone's colour of the year. *Enjoys*

Valentine's Day 3D card

I have this tendency to post up things after they have long gone
and in this case, Valentine's Day has been over for close to a month
but I still think that this is a very simple and pretty card to make
regardless if it is for Valentine's Day and thus decided to post it up.

The Creative Place has a very detailed step by step tutorial on
how to create this card and yes, it is on my to do list *grin*
I just need to get my hands on a sewing machine *huhuhuhu*

Happy mid-week crafting!!!

She's turned 2!

I can’t believe how fast time flies.
I remember the day that I bought her.
Just seems like yesterday that B and
I begged dad to let me buy her.
And how I refused to put her down in the pet store
and how when we brought her home and put her on the floor,
she hopped like a bunny ~ how we laughed at that sight!
I remember too when she snuggled on my lap
and promptly fell asleep one night.
The small warm body in my arms,
head tilted just so, smiling a sulky smile at me.
How I love you Belly.
How we all love you!
You are so very much a part of our family.
*You are loved Belle Belle*
I hope you had a happy 2nd birthday!

Bursts of Lady

There are times when I don my pretty ladylike clothes with
the bows, the lace and such stuff.
I douse myself in awesome smelling perfume
and wear my dainty accessories.
My hair is combed or sometimes curled and
adorned with a hair band or bow or tied in a pretty plait.
The make-up comes next from its pretty
packaged tubes, jars and palettes to settle on my face.
I pick my shoes the pointy ones, or flat ones,
the ones that shine and glitter or the sling backs
or the super CFM (Come F**k Me) heels.
And lastly I pick out my bag, the pretty clutch,
the sharp black purse, the sweet one with the ribboned handle.

After all that, I am finally ready.
The messy girl turned into a lady.
I get bursts like that.
Not often.
But it happens every now and then.
And I love it.
But it doesn’t last long.

I go back to being the slightly disheveled,
jeans-slipper-teeshirt wearing girl.
And I love that the most.
